Marlon Byrd's demotion to AAA seems to have helped his swing. He's a different hitter since he came back up. Let's hope it continues.
Wilkerson singles, Byrd singles him to third, and Guillen singles in Byrd.
First and second, no outs. That's a nice start to the game!
But then reality sets in. Wilson strikes out and Castilla walks, meaning the bases are loaded and we only need a fly ball to score a run. Think fly ball Deivi! Sure enough, Cruz swings at a ball down and away that looks to be out of the strike zone and pops out to second. Bennet then flies out to end the inning.
That's a big waste of an opportunity thanks to a very weak second half of the lineup.
