When the Mets played the Nationals at RFK in the only home exhibition game, it seemed like there were as many Mets fans as Nats fans. We had to endure the chants of "Let's Go Mets" throughout the game and the sight of countless Mets hats and jerseys. That and the bitterly cold weather were enough to keep RFK from seeming like a home.
This series with the Mets has been a good opportunity to reflect on RFK and its home field advantage, if any. We are happy to report that we have seen a transformation in the fans over the last few months. Gone are loud "Let's Go Mets" chants; the only significant cheering has been for the Nats. And the crowd has been a sea of red, with nearly everyone wearing some form of Nats paraphernalia. There are, of course, Mets fans strewn throughout the stadium, but this series has made clear that RFK is the Nationals' home, both literally and figuratively.

Let's go Mets!
The Mets? Are you serious? If you can't win with Glavine, Graves and Pedro, you should take your ball and go home. The Mets are awful!
