This is getting ridiculous!

Another wasted opportunity.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Marlon Byrd tripled. With Jose Guillen coming up, this was another situation in which the Nationals needed only a fly ball to score. After being knocked down by a brush-back pitch, Gillen grounded out to short, which forced Byrd to hold at third. Wilson then struck out to end the inning. It really would be nice to have some hitters who could just put the ball in the air when we needed it.
