The End is Near
Les Carpenter has a great article on Cristian Guzman in today's Post. As we read it we were reminded of Michael Corleone's admonition that "it's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business." We can all feel for Guzman; it's got to be hard to be so bad for so long in front of all those people. On the other hand, we're fans of a team, and we want that team to do well, and Guzman is an impediment to this team doing well. Unless Guzman has a dramatic turn-around, the Nationals are going to have to accept reality and either cut him or send him down for a serious reworking of his swing. As much as Jim Bowden would like to recover some of $16.8 million in Guzman, he can't continue to sacrifice the team's success like this.
