The End of Offense

Against Jake Peavy, one of the best pitchers in the National League, the Nationals are fielding today one of their weakest lineups. The lineup includes the following hitters:

PlayerOPS
Carroll.578
Guzman.515
Baerga.681
Cepicky.654
Blanco.669
Bennett.620

Oh, and Ryan Church's OPS in July was .677.

It's hard to see how the Nationals will put up any significant offense with this lineup. We're all for resting players, but this is ridiculous. Not surprisingly, the Nationals haven't scored through six innings.
