Tonight's Game

For those following tonight's game on computer.

Tonight's game features another pitching disparity in favor of the Nationals. Livan Hernandez will start against Wandy Rodriguez, another Astro starter with a 6+ ERA. If Hernandez has a good outing and if the Nationals' bats don't go to sleep, you'd have to say that the Nats have the advantage. Of course, the Nats' bats are quite capable of going into a deep coma at a moment's notice, so let's not get ahead of ourselves.

With Vidro back in the starting lineup, Jamey Carroll thankfully starts at shortstop and Guzman sits. Don't expect much out of Carroll, but at least he won't hurt the Nationals as badly as Guzman likely would.

Let's daydream for a moment. If the Nationals can win these next two games they'd be one up in the wild card race, which would be a pretty good example of perserverance given the team's recent pathetic play. The Nationals can win this thing, but they can't give away any more games. This is a game they should win, and if they're going to be a playoff team they have to rise to occasions like these.
