If the Nationals are ever going to win a game based on the strength of their starting pitching, this is it. John Patterson goes against another Astacio, but this time his name is Ezequiel. This Astacio isn't much better than Pedro: his ERA is 6.33 and he gives up almost three home runs every nine innings.
But before we become too confident....
Wait a minute, what are we talking about?! Who out there in Nationals-land can have any confidence in a particular game these days? The Nationals made Pedro Astacio look like Pedro Martinez, and there's no reason why they can't do the same to Ezequiel.
On the other hand, the Nats are starting Brandon Watson tonight, so maybe all of our problems are solved...
