The Nats couldn't rally in the 9th. Church struck out on what looked like ball 3 and Wilkerson struck out on what he thought was ball 2. Vidro then singled and tried to go to second on what seemed an ill-advised move, but he somehow avoided the tag and was safe. The crowd went wild, but Guillen ended the party by grounding out.
Brazoban got the save and looked pretty overpowering.
We hate to keep raising this, but we'd still be playing if Vidro had hit even a medium fly ball in the 3rd to score Wilderson. Of course, the Nats would have won had Loaiza not made .230 Dodger hitters look like Albert Pujols.
All in all it was a frustrating loss, especially because it felt like it was 125 degrees in the stadium. This was undoubtedly the most uncomfortable game to which we have ever been. Here's a tip: if you're coming to the game from work, bring a change of clothes--don't wear a suit.

Remote postings have led you to create 11 entries about the Nats' futility. Of those 11 posts, you could have made at least one comment on the fighting spirit of this years' Dodger club. Their never say die attitude coupled with their managers' relentless spirit will overcome any shortcomings regarding HR/9 or OSP.
We won't say anything bad about the Dodgers because we're fans, but we'll ask a question: can a sub-.500 team have a "never say die attitude"?
