Patterson

Through eight, Patterson has overpowered the Dodgers. He has given up no runs and only three hits, and the Dodgers have been unable to mount any serious offensive threat. Patterson has thrown only 101 pitches, so Robinson will probably send him out in the ninth with the chance of a complete game.

This is exactly the kind of game we hoped Patterson would throw when we said he had to learn how to go deeper into game. I doubt even the Nationals thought Patterson would be this good.

2-0 Nats.

UPDATE: Here is the link to the page discussing the need for Patterson to go deeper into games.
